Hugh Jackman as PT Barnum! Somewhere I got the impression that this movie was not well received by critics. Their loss! I thought it was great. I like movie musicals. I like Hugh Jackman. I love Circus. So, three thumbs up! (I even ordered a hard copy for myself!) This movie isn't for everyone, though. The music is not period. Nor are the dances. And I am sure some of the story was altered to be more dramatic, but it worked for me!

The Greatest Showman
Hugh Jackman as PT Barnum! Somewhere I got the impression that this movie was not well received by critics. Their loss! I thought it was great. I like movie musicals. I like Hugh Jackman. I love Circus. So, three thumbs up! (I even ordered a hard copy for myself!) This movie isn't for everyone, though. The music is not period. Nor are the dances. Half Moon Street (Book)
An Anne Perry Pitt Mystery book. Anne seems to write historical fiction, at least from what I have read of her work thus far. This is at least the second Anne Perry book I have read. Both have featured Pitt and his wife Charlotte. The Victorian period is excellent evoked in these works - including social mores. This particular work focuses on a murder where the victim is posed sort of like Ophelia from a painting. It also features more of Oscar Wilde who apparently makes an appearance in other Pitt mysteries. Perhaps. Who knows. I liked it overall, though it was a bit wordy for my taste. Maybe something to do with the Victorian Period...

Like Father
Kristen Bell and Kelsey Grammar - two great tastes that taste great together? This movie was being pushed by Netflix I had nothing I was dying to watch, so I watched it. Kelsey Grammar comes back into his daughter's life after being absent for most of it. They end up getting drunk and going on a cruise together - what was supposed to be her honeymoon cruise. Hilarity and emotions abound. The script was a bit cliched, but there were a few surprises. Definitely ok. At best.
Thief - Video Game
I picked this game up at my local independent Game Store because I thought it looked interesting. I liked some of the game mechanics, other bits, not so much. The story was ok, graphics were decent, gameplay decent as well. Overall, I enjoyed this game, especially because it was very inexpensive!
Under the Dome
Rachelle LaFevre stars in this adaptation of a Stephen King Story. Lots of bad acting. Lots of huge plot holes. Lots of weird occurrences. But I watched all three seasons. Sigh. The reasons to watch this are: science fiction, actors you like, Stephen King. Only three season!
Safety Not Guaranteed
I think I have seen this movie twice. Obviously the first time didn't stick. The star is Aubrey Plaza who I grew to admire from watching Parks and Recreation. About three news people who go to a small town for various reasons, ostensibly to write a story about a man who is looking for a companion for a trip through time. Interesting characters and decent acting. Overall fun.
Hell or High Water
I think I watched this because of a trailer. Two brothers go on a bank robbing spree and Jeff Daniels tries to catch them. Overall, not a bad movie. Good cast. Decently written. Some good action.

Long Strange Trip
I don't watch a lot on Amazon Prime yet. But I am trying to use it more. So, the other day I binge watched all of this Grateful Dead documentary. It was interesting. But like many documentaries, it jumped around in time oddly. Still there were some interesting tidbits in it. If you are a fan, you will enjoy it. If you know nothing about the Grateful Dead, you will learn some stuff. Who knows, maybe you will even come to like them. AIP
