This short book was comprised of the unfinished story of the title and two short stories. Apparently Forrester died while writing it, though there were notes that made it clear how the story was to end. I was just getting to the good point when the completed part ended. Boo. More Hornblower! Now! One of the two stories included in the book was about Hornblower's time as a Midshipman. And the last was about Hornblower as an Admiral. All good stuff. What is it about some characters? One just can't get enough of them! If you like Hornblower, then this is a must read!
