The Fourth Protocol (Book)

Wow, there couldn't have been a much bigger difference between two books that are both considered "thrillers." This book, by the author of The Day of the Jackal was filled with technical details, clever coincidences, logical decisions and a slow ramping up of suspense. Great stuff. The plot revolves around a rogue(ish) plan to set off a backpack nuke in England. John Preston is the protagonist, an MI5 agent who is tenacious, clear thinking, decisive in action and a generally all around nice person. Great read if this is your sort of thriller.
